4 ways to brighten up your home this Autumn
The nights are drawing in and the temperature is starting to drop. Autumn brings us crunchy leaves, cosy lighting and, of course, allows our solar lighting to turn on earlier!
A great way to embrace the cosy season is by giving your home an autumnal lighting makeover to create a warm and inviting space to enjoy throughout the season.
Below are our top tips for creating a snug haven at home this autumn.
1. Focus on the fireplace
The focal point of every home during the colder months has to be the living room, and within that, the fireplace. Whether you have a traditional mantelpiece or a woodburner, adding autumn decorations is the perfect way to create a cosy display for the season.
Drape net lights, ball fairy lights, star fairy lights, heart fairy lights or simply our essential series of fairy lights along your mantel.
2. Cosy up!
Autumn sees the return of all the best things...staying in bed for longer, dressing gowns, warm slippers and plenty of fluffy blankets! After a long summer of being banished to the wardrobe, it's time to get them back out and snuggle on down.
Transform any room by introducing soft furnishings in rich seasonal colours to add texture and warmth to your home. Think cushions and throws in burnt oranges or deep plums to add an autumnal touch that will keep you feeling cosy, even when it's chilly. Then drape seed lights from shelving and weave through foliage and plants to add a soft sparkle!
3. Soft lighting
You can't beat the gentle glow of fairy lights on dark evenings!
Add solar seed fairy lights or solar garden lanterns to your front porch or pathways so you have a welcoming entrance as you arrive home in the darker evenings.
Brighten up your kitchens by framing windows with indoor fairy lights. Weave them through foliage or draping along bench tops.
Add a warm glow to living spaces by hanging fairy lights along walls, shelves or fire places.
Drape along entertainment units to help fill empty spaces while also providing additional light.
Place seed fairy lights in domes, glass jars or metal lanterns and pop them on shelves, side tables or coffee tables.
4. Set the table
The dining table is a really important part of the home, as we gather around with family and friends to share meals, celebrate moments and make cherished memories. The island bench and kitchen benchtops are also a common gathering point for those evening get togethers!
We all create a festive table display for Christmas, but autumnal dining is becoming more popular too! Glass pumpkins are my top pick for any display, creating a warm and sparkly centrepiece for your table. Pair with seed fairy lights, and napkins in seasonal colours. All that's left to do is invite everyone round, and enjoy!
