How to hang your string lights using a tension wire or nails
The inviting glow of Festoon Lights can make any outdoor gathering all the more magical. And when you leave them up year-round, you’re always ready for a get-together with friends.
Hanging your string lights can be a very simple project. However, there are a few considerations you’ll want to take into account beforehand.
Tip 1:
If hanging a distance where hanging points are spaced more than 8m apart we recommend using a tension wire. This will help support the weight of your festoon cable. We also recommend this wire if hanging in a windy outdoor area.
To secure your festoon lights to the wire, you can use cable ties like below.
Tip 2:
If you have wooden beams, rafters or posts you can opt to use nails to hang your festoon lights. These are a fuss free, easy option and you can simply loop the festoon hook over the nail like the image below.
Now it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy the cozy ambiance of your new outdoor lights. You should probably invite a few friends over, too and hear them chant 'Love Your Lights'
